Finishing Touches

as the dawn of the final day approaches it is now my job to make finishing touches to the game to fix all the broken code and to produce a credit sequence for the end of the game

its been a long project, fun but incredibly long as almost a years worth of content has been created by our very talented team of 5

The Power of the Plug-In




by using a mix of paid for and free software on the unity assets store we have cut a lot of work from our scheduled our first plan is to use the maze and puzzle software made available by this company to create a method of lock picking doors using alpha maps and to provide a event for the school scene

in addition we have managed to implement a car from a plug in that actually allows the player to drive around the map at speed the only downside to this is some of the errors that occur when the player leaves the car but their is plenty of time to sort that out.

Snippets

the idea with the snippets is to indirectly provide the player with the games story as such we had to design pieces of work that fit the environment and the timeframe the game is set in. below are some example snippets and as we continue our project we intend to add many more.

Randomising sound

Into the build this week I added a bit of code that makes random sounds play, with regard to things such as our doors the sounds trigger on contact with an object tagged as 'door' then play 1 of 7 random sounds. to optimise this I may later add a line of code preventing repetition of the same sound after it was last called.

This code has also proven useful for the character to say random lines of dialogue and for additional atmosphere with things such as lightning .

More TO-Do

The blue is what is 100% done so far, these are mine and cams check lists that we crudely knocked up haha, ands far pretty much everything that needs doing/fixing is being fully sorted, so thumbs up to that, also I've got a few of Joshs pics and Kierans on trello but still need a few more off you josh and phil I've got sod all  only takes 5 mins to open your files and screen cap.
